"My result was different from last time — why?"
It's a fair question, and there are real reasons it happens.
Bodydot is an AI Body Analyzer that measures external body shape — posture, alignment, and proportion. That's fundamentally different from a body composition analyzer like InBody, which measures what's inside. So the factors that affect your results are different too.
What Affects Your Results
1. Clothing — The Biggest Variable

Bodydot works by photographing your body's external shape with a 3D camera. How well your clothes reveal your actual body shape directly affects measurement accuracy.
- High impact: Oversized t-shirts, thick hoodies, skirts, coats → obscure the body's true lines
- Recommended: Leggings, compression shorts, fitted athletic tops, or swimwear
For meaningful Before/After comparisons, wear the same type of clothing every time.
2. Measurement Posture — Natural Beats Perfect

If you consciously pull your shoulders back, suck in your stomach, or stand "at attention," the scan captures your performed posture — not your real one.
Stand the way you normally would. The point of the analysis is to see your actual current state, not your best effort.
3. Time of Day
Your body shifts subtly throughout the day. Extended sitting can cause the pelvis to shift back; prolonged standing can cause swelling in the feet. For reliable Before/After comparison, measure at the same time of day each session.
4. Recent Physical Activity
Intense exercise can temporarily cause muscles to swell and posture to shift. Allow at least 30 minutes of rest after exercise before measuring.
5. Hair and Accessories
Long hair draped over the shoulders, thick necklaces, or bulky headwear can interfere with shoulder and neck measurements. Tie your hair up and remove accessories before stepping in front of the camera.
How Bodydot Differs from InBody

This is where a lot of people get confused. Because Bodydot measures external shape rather than internal composition, these common InBody restrictions simply don't apply:
Factor | InBody (Body Composition) | Bodydot (Body Shape) |
Water intake | Significant impact | Minimal impact |
Food/meals | Significant impact | Minimal impact |
Clothing | Minimal impact | Significant impact |
Natural posture | Minimal impact | Significant impact |
Pre-Scan Checklist
Fitted sportswear (same type every session)
Hair tied up, accessories removed
Natural, relaxed stance
Same time of day as previous scans
At least 30 minutes rest after intense exercise
Follow these consistently, and your Bodydot Before/After data becomes a genuinely reliable record of how your body changes over time.
